The district is expected to cover approximately four square miles, extending from Hiwassee to Triple X and from 10th Street to 23rd Street.
The proposed TIF District is envisioned as a mixed-use area that includes housing, businesses, park enhancements, and improved connectivity throughout the community. Planned improvements include walking trails and golf-cart paths that will allow residents to travel from the golf course to Bouse Park through neighborhoods and commercial areas, creating greater access and connectivity across the district.
Choctaw City Council/ Choctaw Utilities Authority council meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month beginning at 6: 00 p.m. at City Hall, 2500 N. Choctaw Road, Choctaw, Oklahoma.

Each year before the Holiday with Heroes event, first responders gather at the Choctaw Police Department to enjoy fellowship and a meal before meeting with the children they serve. Law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMTs are treated to a three-course dinner that helps bring everyone together in the spirit of the season.
Since 2020, Johnny and Aurela Drazhi have generously provided this meal, demonstrating their unwavering support and appreciation for our first responders. Their kindness and commitment have become a meaningful tradition that is greatly valued by our public safety personnel.
This framed medallion is a small token of our gratitude for their years of support and generosity. Thank you, Johnny and Aurela, for making a difference in our community and for helping us honor those who serve.

Please be aware that the Choctaw High School Class of 2026 is graduating tonight! A big congratulations to all of the seniors—job well done!
With that said, for members of the public not attending the ceremony, please expect traffic congestion on 10th Street this evening. To help support a smooth arrival and departure for families, please avoid 10th Street between Henney and Harper if possible.
Graduation starts at 7:00 PM. Parking opens at 4:30 PM for those with a parking pass. Additional parking will be available at Choctaw Road Baptist Church and Choctaw Church of the Nazarene starting at 5:00 PM, so please also be careful in these areas due to increased congestion.
The last shuttle will run at 6:30 PM. After the ceremony, shuttle service will continue until 9:00 PM.
Again—expect heavy traffic on 10th Street, between Harper, and Henney and Choctaw Road at 15th street from 4:00–7:00 PM and again beginning around 8:30 PM.
Thank you for your patience and support in helping make this a smooth and memorable evening for everyone involved.

Did you know that rainwater flowing over streets, parking lots, and lawns can carry trash, oil, chemicals, and pollutants directly into our rivers and lakes? That runoff is called stormwater — and small actions can make a big difference in protecting our water.
✅ Pick up litter
✅ Dispose of chemicals properly
✅ Sweep driveways instead of hosing them down
✅ Clean up pet waste
✅ Plant native vegetation to reduce runoff
Every drain leads somewhere. Help keep our waterways clean and healthy for future generations.
