Waste Connections will not be running trash trucks tomorrow, Monday, January 26. All collections will be pushed back one day.

It’s likely there will be a late start on Tuesday to allow the sun to come up and the roads to thaw. There may be some streets that crews are unable to access on Tuesday. If that happens, we will keep everyone updated as we learn more.

We would like to thank Southern Sky, Calico Rock, Gentry Counce, Three Wheel Drive, The Janitors, Guitars for Vets, and Too Burnt to Know for performing at Friday Nights in the Park this season. These bands generously donate their time to play for our community, making the event truly special.

The Friday Nights in the Park experience is greatly enhanced by these talented performers. We also want to thank all
the volunteers, community organizations, food trucks, and vendors who help make Friday Nights in the Park and our other events possible.

This year’s sponsors include: FNB Community Bank, Citizen Potawatomi Nation, AMC Mortgage, BancFirst, TFCU, Renewal by Andersen, ONG, Choctaw Kiwanis, Walmart Choctaw, Sam’s, and C J’s Bait Company.

A special thanks goes to the Parks Department staff, who often work overtime to support and staff these community events.

The City of Choctaw partnered with Freese and Nichols to complete a draft of its Unified Development Code (UDC) as part of an effort to improve the City’s development regulations and provide organized standards all in one place! This update is intended to create a more user-friendly and transparent code that’s easier for residents, property owners, developers, and businesses to understand and use. The draft UDC includes visuals meant to take the guesswork out of the process, improve consistency and provide greater clarity on how development standards apply throughout the community.

This draft is an important step toward making Choctaw’s development rules clearer, more consistent, and easier to use. We encourage residents to review the draft Unified Development Code. https://cityofchoctawok.sites.thrillshare.com/documents/23427448
