Thank you to everyone who has attended one of our community information meetings! There are two meetings remaining.
What Would the Proposed Sales Tax Fund?
If approved by voters, the proposed ¾-cent dedicated city sales tax would fund three specific community projects. Revenue generated by the sales tax would be restricted to these voter-approved purposes:
YMCA Recreation and Wellness Center – A proposed 56,000-square-foot facility featuring indoor aquatics, a gymnasium, wellness areas, childcare, and programs for youth and seniors.
New Police Station – A purpose-built facility designed to support modern policing and public service, including operational space, a courtroom, and an Animal Control facility.
Fire Department Improvements – Renovations to Fire Station #1, along with new fire apparatus and equipment upgrades.
Residents are encouraged to attend one of the remaining community information meetings to learn more about the proposal, ask questions, and hear additional details before the Special Election on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
