Did you know? The City of Choctaw does not receive property taxes.
That’s right—while property taxes help fund schools, the county, and other services, none of it goes to the City itself.
This means that while you pay property taxes every year, the City’s budget is funded through other sources—like sales taxes, permits, and grants.
And if there’s something you can’t purchase locally here in Choctaw, if you shop online and have items delivered to your Choctaw address, the City receives sales tax from those purchases too! So even your online orders help support local services.
Scroll down to see the breakdown in the illustration below showing where your property tax dollars go.
Thank you for supporting Choctaw—whether you're shopping in town or online!

Do not drive on the paved walking trails — they’re not built for vehicle traffic and can be easily damaged.
