Hazardous Waste Disposal
Call the Household Hazardous Waste Facility in Midwest City at 405-739-1049 for an appointment and further information. Appointments are scheduled Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Bring your current Choctaw Utility bill and your driver's license when dropping off items.
You may always dispose of your household hazardous waste safely at the Midwest City Household Hazardous Waste Recycling and Disposal Facility located at 8726 Southeast 15th Street. Items delivered for disposal must be in original containers or correctly labeled and identified in a suitable substitute container.
>>Please note, starting July 1, 2022 any household disposing of less than 130 pounds annually shall remain free; however, drop-offs over 130 pounds annually shall be charged a pro-rated fee based on the cost charged by Midwest City. This fee will be invoiced to you by the City of Choctaw. Feel free to call Development Services at 405-390-2999 to get more information regarding this fee.
The City of Choctaw also partners with Midwest City for an annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event, usually held in early summer. This event will remain free to those residents that sign up and the items collected do not count towards to the annual 130 pounds cap. The next collection event will be in the spring/summer of 2023.
Items must be transported in such a manner to prevent spilling. If necessary, you may line a cardboard box with a plastic bag, but DO not place items in a plastic bag that is not supported by a box.
Many items are received in good, usable condition. These items are available for free to residents of the City of Choctaw. All items received through this program must be for personal or nonprofit use.
